27 Shots

A disposable camera for events, in the browser, with no app to install.

Next.jsStripeAPIsPostgres
Overview

27 Shots turns every guest's phone into a disposable camera. Scan a QR code at the event, with nothing to install, and you get 27 shots on a roll. The host decides when the photos develop: live, at the end of the night, or later. The platform then cuts an auto-edited film from everyone's rolls.

OutcomeEvery guest shooting, and every photo in one place.

How It Went
3 parts

Where it started

Everyone at an event has a camera and the host ends up with none of the photos. Shared albums need an app nobody installs at a wedding, and a disposable camera produces one roll that somebody has to develop.

How it was built

A QR code on the table opens a camera in the browser, so there is nothing to install at either end. Each guest gets a real roll of 27, which is the constraint that makes people shoot deliberately rather than spray.

What shipped

Guests joining by scanning, photos that develop when the host chooses, an auto-edited film cut from the whole room, and full-resolution downloads kept for thirty days.
